Mr Posthumus Enderby
+ description: Coxcomb's Costume circa 1814
Here is a foppish young man rigged out in the latest exaggerated style of fashion. He wears a tailcoat with a nipped-in waist, a broad, high collar, and thickly padded shoulders. His collar points reach to his cheekbones, and his neckcloth is tied in something of his own creation like a Waterfall knot. His legs are encased in the latest thing--the Cossack or Petersham trouser, very full and tied at the ankle above short boots. With buttons the size of small plates and an extravagantly windswept hairstyle, he is an 'exquisite.'
